Since first and last letter are intact the scramble only affects words with 4 letters or more. 5 letter words are still readable and what about 6 letter words and more? What about words like through? Why is it more difficult to read than other words when scrambled. One answer to that could be that we see the th as one sound and when the h is scrambled it becomes difficult. If your native language is different than English it might be more difficult or easier depending on the structure of the language. Do you need the endings to figure out who people are talking about then this scrambler might scramble too much. All these things are very interesting indeed and you can explore your own language with this fun app.
